From 20th to 24th Dec, 2011, Guangzhou Municipal Government held the First China (Guangzhou) International Innovation Exposition in Guangzhou under the support of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. With the theme of “Innovation-driven & Transitional development”, the expo displayed the latest scientific inventions and innovations, providing a communication and cooperation platform for cities to exchange international scientific innovations and brain power.CNNIC, on behalf of Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended this session of the expo and displayed to the public for the first time “IoT Resource Name Service”. The platform is compatible with any IoT resource name coding standard and provides such public services as resolution, discovery, and security support for each IoT applied domains such as smart furniture, smart home appliance, smart logistics, smart agriculture, video monitoring and various kinds of IoT resource names such as bar code, RFID code, and URI, which helps manage and operate IoT resource name public services with independent intellectual property rights in China
During the first session of the expo, “IoT RNS” attracted extensive attention from business personnel. Professionals from China Telecom, peer organizations of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and domestic IoT enterprises as well as representatives of overseas students who inquired about such issues as development of IoT, demand for intercommunication of IoT, specific application of platform and platform interface. They remarked that “IoT RNS” of CNNIC is of great significance to the intercommunication of all domains of IoT and plays a substantial role in supporting the further development of IoT.
CNNIC is committed to breaking the barrier of space in all applied domains of IoT in the future so as to facilitate information integration & sharing. “IoT RNS” enables various countries, industries and enterprises to manage and control IoT name resources independently, realizing intercommunication in the real sense and boosting the development of the IoT industry on the basis of ensuring independent sovereignty and information security,.
