ITU Telecom World 2012, to be held from October 14 to October 18 in 2012, will offer a platform to discuss the core issues concerning the global cyber security. On May 31, 2012, ITU called on governments of various countries to conduct more extensive international cooperation with the information and communication technology industry so as to cope with the current threats to the global cyber security. In response to the request of ITU, the analysis and research carried out by Kaspersky Lab on the highly complicated and malicious software has further shown that the international cooperation is a must to cope with the complex cyber threats in future. International cooperation will be a critical component of Global Cyber-Security Agenda (GCA) of ITU with the core to enhance the International Multilateral Partnership against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) in the aspects of prevention, defense of and response to cyber threat across the globe with 142 member countries. ITU asks the member countries and industry to actively respond to its proposal and work closely to identify the current challenges, analyze the new and possible threats and then propose the global strategies for the accomplishment of GCA goals. In terms of global cooperation, Secretary-General of ITU said, it is of vital importance to have early pre-alert against new threats as well as the sharing of good experience and best practices among partners, which is the inevitable course to protect the global information community and the target to found the global alliance of IMPACT. According to Kaspersky Lab, cyber security is a severe challenge around the world faced by all countries and members in the industry for now and in the future. By resorting to the top international platform like ITU Telecom World 2012, the complete and sufficient discussion is an important measure to cope with the current and future cyber threats.
