On February 20, 2014 ICANN and IANA announced that China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) has been accredited as a Data Escrow Agent (DEA) for new gTLDs. CNNIC will therefore accept data escrow business from worldwide.
CNNIC is the first domain name service provider that has obtained this prestigious accreditation in Asia. It is also the only new gTLD Data Escrow Platform qualified by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

About Data Escrow
The accessibility of new gTLDs even in cases of physical disruption or service provider breakdown must be maintained. In order to do so, ICANN has established certain rules and criteria for DEA. To pass the stringent test is necessary for a successful DEA.
Data Escrow Service
In response, CNNIC will provide you with the following:
Server address; the username needed to log into CNNIC SFTP; the PGP key needed to encrypt the entrusted data.
Upon reception of the secret key and other relevant information, CNNIC will complete the user account initialization process within 2-3 business days. After completion, CNNIC will forward the user name and PGP key as an encrypted attachment via email to your given email address. CNNIC support staff will call to inform you the password needed to decrypt the attachment.
