Zhang Xiao is Vice President of CNNIC and Executive Deputy Director of China IGF. She keeps connection with Chinese industries, and actively organizes the China IGF community to participate in National and Regional IGFs. She is passionate about Internet-related policy issues. She has experience in multistakeholder and multilateral governance. Prior to CNNIC, she served in the State Informatization Advisory Committee, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Cyberspace Administration of China, concurrently the board member of APTLD and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit. Currently, Zhang Xiao serves as Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) member appointed by the UN Secretary-General for 2024.
The United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) serves to bring people together from various stakeholder groups in discussions on digital public policy. The IGF is dedicated to facilitating a common understanding of how to maximize digital opportunities and address digital risks and challenges.
