Goal and Organization

With the approval of the competent departments of the Ministry of Information Industry and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Internet Society of China established the Policy and Resources Work Committee on June 11, 2002. Subordinate to Internet Society of China, the Policy and Resources Work Committee is broadly representative of the field with its members coming from the government competent departments, the Internet industry, scientific and technological research institutes, higher education institutions, news media, public institutions and social organizations. CNNIC functions as the Secretariat of the Policy and Resources Work Committee, Internet Society of China. 

Standing at the forefront of Internet development, the Committee holds the goal to actively advance research upon the development of China Internet industry and its administration policy, so as to provide suggestions on formulating policies and laws intended to promote sound and orderly development of China Internet Network; to promote R & D and application of Internet addresses, and discuss on application and administration mode of Internet resources; to perfect survey of Internet information resources and related information services; and unite with the Internet community to carry out international exchanges and cooperation on Internet addressing technology and administration policy. 

The Second Policy and Resources Work Committee was set up out of democratic election on August 19, 2005. The Committee comprises the following members:
